Financial Planner

The wisdom and knowledge that come together in a seasoned Advisor are invaluable to clients. Since 1996, Sharon Rizzuto, Financial Advisor, enhances and manages the complexities in the financial lives of individuals, businesses, charities and families who are prepared to make a commitment to improving their financial wealth.

Equipped with the sincerity to listen and help, with honesty and integrity, Sharon holds herself to a higher level of service and caring which is reflected in her “Do More, Know More and Care More” mantra.

“I seek clients not customers. I see myself becoming an integral part of their life’s journey, providing them with financial counselling for wealth creation and accumulation throughout their lives. A high level of integrity, knowledge and compassion and always putting my clients interests first creates that trusting relationship which all humans seek and I strive to personify.”

Sharon’s skill set include many years of bank experience along with her Bachelor of Commerce degree, Certified Financial Planners and Financial Divorce Specialists accreditations. Following her graduation from McMaster University’s Business School she joined the Royal Bank, shortly after she jumped to Corporate Banking with the CIBC in Toronto where she entered as a member of the product development team and retired 8 years later as the Group Product Manager responsible for all of the EFT and Preauthorized systems for the bank. Her education coupled with years of industry and life experience in the area of divorce, parental illness care giving, estate executorships’ and director of a family business corporation through to its wind up, have provided Sharon with experiential wisdom that enhances the understanding of her clients’ often complex situations.

“I make sure I am available to give council on my client’s urgent life situations as they arise as well as continually monitoring our progress over time.

I treat clients as I would expect to be treated. I respect each person’s ability to make decisions and therefore provide choices and advise appropriate to each individual’s needs and wants. I provide supportive information and respect your decision to choose.”

Sharon is a contribution to financial services publications including the Globe and Mail in articles on “Footloose and Mortgage free” and “Divorce Throws a Monkey Wrench into Financial Works”. She also contributes to Gold and Silver magazine with her article on “Our Two Certainties in Life… Death and Taxes”.

She is involved in local community initiatives of Rotary and has served on the board of the FORT (the Foundation of Resources’ for Teens of West Niagara – as the Treasurer) and the GMHA as house league convener and the social committee and the GTYSC as team manager while raising her three children.

Scott Rizzuto

CFP®, CIM
Associate Advisor

Having a Financial Planner as a Mom, Scott was almost destined to inherit the passion for personal finance that he grew up immersed in. He tried to resist the calling of finance by joining the Canadian Naval Reserves, which helped see him through school. When Scott ultimately left his position after five years, he was finally ready to give into his early adopted love of personal finance, and join his mom in the family practice. Unfortunately for Scott though, Sharon had other ideas. His plea to his mother to join the family business was met with a “HARD NO” and “you need to get some experience, then maybe we can talk”. So, after spending six years with a leading Canadian Asset Management company, which came with a move across the country, Scott managed to work his way up from the call centre to Vice President of Sales. Working with former employer, Scott had the opportunity to meet and work with thousands of Financial Advisors from across Alberta, helping them with investment management and portfolio construction. At the same time, he was also learning and absorbing everything he could from them on the Financial Planning side. While out west, Scott also used this time to study and complete both his Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designations. Successful in his quest to gain experience and earn the consideration of his Mom, Scott couldn’t be more excited to be back in his hometown and sitting on the “other side” of the table to his previous career. While not at work you can find Scott going for long walks in the suburbs with his fiancé and dog Beau, or on a lake trying to make up for lost time on the water, from his years of living in the prairies.

Our Consultants

Supporting the communities within which we work

At IPC, we built IPC Cares to bring together the various efforts we make towards enhancing the communities within which we operate. By adopting causes that are close to our hearts, we keep ourselves committed and accountable.

Last year alone, as a company, we supported the aid efforts on the Fort McMurray fires, palliative care through The Healing Cycle Foundation and women and children through The Salvation Army.

Perhaps the most significant effort we undertake, and one that we believe is representative of the kind of work that inspires and keeps us committed to our CSR efforts, is the community development project in Honduras with The Carpenteros & Friends. Last year’s project involved a group of IPC staff and Advisors volunteering their time and energy on the ground. Very little is as inspiring and rewarding as living the lives of the people you’re helping, and every one of the people who took the journey came back a changed person, even more determined to stay committed to making a difference in the world!

We also made countless small but significant contributions of our time and resources within our communities through many grassroots charities we believe in, and the ripple effect of their efforts are always rewarding.
